Description The Oshkosh Waterfront Hotel and Convention Center is seeking an Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to assist in the day-to-day operation of banquet and catering services. This position oversees banquet team members in the execution and service of in-house and off-site catered events with an emphasis on the banquet beverage and banquet set up operations.

This position is responsible for providing leadership to a diverse team of servers, set up crew members, bartenders, and banquet supervisors. Position Duties: Supervise the opening and closing procedures of banquet beverage events.

Ensure all closing duties and administrative responsibilities are completed before leaving. Ensure banquet set up team properly executes assigned daily tasks. Oversee the setup and tear down of events.

Create weekly staff schedules for the banquet bar team and banquet set up team based on labor needs, meeting guest needs, and maximizing efficiency. Prepare and conduct performance evaluations for beverage and set up team members. Maintain constant communication with guests and/or on-site contacts to ensure all expectations are met or exceeded.

Instill the company's culture and values in all team members and ensure they are followed in day-to-day activities and guest interactions. Adhere to all employment laws and company policies and procedures for responsible beverage service. Provide coaching and corrective action for team members as necessary following the hotel's team member handbook policies and procedures.

Ensure staff training programs are implemented for all new hires. Monitor regularly for effectiveness and continuous improvement. Requirements Previous supervisory experience is required.

A degree in hospitality or business management or equivalent work experience. A valid and current Oshkosh bartender license must be obtained within 60 days of hire. Must have a flexible work schedule and work as business demands require.

Nights and weekends are necessary. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, high energy, a passion for exceptional guest service. Experience with onsite catering.

Experience with off-site catering is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated ability to lead a banquet team under high-stress, high-pressure situations. Ability to resolve guest conflicts and/or concerns effectively with satisfactory results.
