The iconic Hotel del Coronado is looking for a looking for an energetic Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join the team at this National Historic Landmark!
Located on Coronado Island just minutes from Downtown San Diego, this 28-acre property was built in 1888 and has over 700 rooms (to include cottages and villas), 65,000 square feet of banquet space, and 10 food and beverage outlets. This includes 4 restaurants, 2 bars, food truck, marketplace, ice cream shop, and in-room dining.
In this role, you will help oversee multiple food and beverage outlets.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant. Hotel experience and Union management experience is a plus!
What will I be doing?
As an Assistant Manager of Food and Beverage at the Ocean Club, you would be responsible for assisting in the daily management of activities and services of all hotel food and beverage operations (kitchens, restaurants, banquets, lounges, room service, coffee shops, etc.) in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard:
Assist in the management of all Food and Beverage operations to include, but not limited to, guest service, food and beverage quality, inventory management, outlet reservations and occupancy, systems management, budget and forecasting, marketing, report generation, department management and meeting participation and facilitation
Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation and monitor cost and portion controls
Assist in monitoring and developing team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
Meet and greet guests and respond to guest inquiries, requests and issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner and resolve guest concerns
Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards.
Assist in recruiting, interviewing and training team members.
What are we looking for?
Minimum 2 years' experience in Food & Beverage/Restaurant management, including experience in a high-volume environment required.
Engaging and open leadership style with a track record in successfully coaching and developing teams required.
POS systems experience required.
Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required
Open availability to work varying days and hours with no schedule restrictions required.
Agilisys and UniFocus experience preferred.
Labor management and/or forecasting experience preferred.
Current ServSafe and TIPS certifications preferred.
Hospitality experience preferred.
Union experience preferred.

Salary Range: The annual salary range for this role is $66,950-$78k and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
