ROLE of the POSITION

Manages departmental administration and the all source financial budget under direct supervision of the Department Chair. Works closely with the UNLV SOM Sr.

Associate Dean for Finance and CFO of UNLV SOM, and UNLV Medicine to plan and manage the practice plan financial transactions of the Department. This includes the financial modeling and budgeting for patient billings and hospital contract for professional service agreements. Works with the clinic manager and the UNLV Practice Plan to ensure coordination between finance and clinic operations are aligned. Assists the Department Chair and the UNLV SOM HR to administer the human resources responsibilities of the Department.

This position must have knowledge of both the NSHE, UNLV, UNLV SOM and UNLV Medicine (practice plan) policies and procedures and ensure that expenses are in compliance with these policies. This position will oversee all the financial reporting to individual faculty and physicians regarding their physician compensation plan, and be knowledgeable of federal and state regulations with regards to billing and contracting in the State of Nevada.

This position will estimate all the unique revenue sources for the all source budget and work with the Office of Education to determine the educational work effort and the clinical FTE for each physician and faculty member in the department. This position will work closely with HR to determine the need for temporary services to fill Professional Service contracts with hospitals and hiring of LOAs.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires either a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 2 years NSHE, SOM experience in US or a Bachelor's degree in a Business Field and 2 years business experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

Experience in a higher education academic setting, Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, relevant financial software's and the budgeting systems for both the UNLV SOM and the Practice Plan

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
