As the Assistant Finance Manager within our Sales Finance team you will be responsible for providing strong financial leadership and insights to functional and business unit leaders around trade spending, customer profitability, and customer financial reporting. This position will drive long-term profitable growth for the Strategic Customers (Costco, Target, Dollar General, Dollar Tree, Home Depot, and Lowe's). This position reports to the Sr. Finance Manager-Strategic Accounts but works closely with sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively support the Home hardware channel (Home Depot and Lowe's). Play a key leadership role in driving growth by providing analytical support on trade spending and profitability at these key customers.

  • Own the Joint Business Plan for Target and Costco, working with your sales counterparts to develop profitable goals for Clorox. Assess spending and suggest areas of improvement to provide better return on investment. Provide support for customer negotiations.

  • Assist with the assessment of current and future risks and opportunities of Strategic Customers and the development of the long range plan. Assess current year plans and targets and highlight risks and opportunities.

  • Drive Value Creation by proactively identifying and championing opportunities to create tangible value for Strategic Customers

  • Own your development by actively participating in the MyGPS process and Learning and Development programs.

  • Partner with Business Unit (HQ) finance to ensure consistency between financials analysis and current operational plans

Years and Type of Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional work experience in finance and accounting

  • SAP or other ERP systems experience highly desirable

  • CPG industry and/or retailer experience preferred

  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience required. Microsoft Power BI/Tableau/Alterix a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills needed to consolidate large quantities of data, identify trends and drivers and distill issues and risks

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence

  • Ability to work on cross-functional activities and form solid business relationships

  • Ability to take personal ownership of project tasks and ensure timely resolution of issues

  • Experience in interpreting accounting principles and incorporating learnings into project financials

  • Strong excel modeling capabilities highly desirable

Education Level/Degree:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics; MBA or CPA a plus
