Job Description:
The Judicial Branch is a state-funded Branch of Government that offers medical/dental/vision, $20,000 free basic life insurance, state-matched 156% retirement plan, 13 paid holidays, earned paid vacation and sick leave, tuition reimbursement and more.
This position provides financial administrative support work for upper-level management staff of the Office of Court and Probation Administration.
Job Duties:
Work involves, but is not limited to, the handling of confidential financial administrative matters, performing complex support related to finance, basic accounting and clerical duties in support of the entire Judicial Branch. This involves decision making responsibilities requiring considerable organizational skills, attention to detail and independent judgment. Work additionally requires considerable knowledge of financial operations and ability to assume sole ownership of projects or major tasks.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school with at least four years' experience in related duties.
Preferred Qualifcations: College degree in accounting or related fields.
Review and enter all types of financial transactions in E1, including payments, deposits, ACH invoices, journal entries, address book numbers, etc. Review and verify billing statements.
Code and calculate interpreter statements.
Communicate with vendors, employees and customers on billing and payment questions. Ability to learn and apply the principles and concepts of specific agency programs and regulations and the procedures of an accounting system. Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers and staff. Pay attention to details.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
Ability to establish and cultivate good working relationships with coworkers, individuals in positions of authority, criminal justice agencies, compacting states, field officers, and the general public. Ability to grasp and adhere to principles of confidentiality.
Knowledge of the judicial branch of government, the organizational structure of the Nebraska Probation/Court System. Highly motivated to work independently and meet critical deadlines. Critical thinker able to discern important information.
