The Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 is seeking an Assistant Executive Director to support the Executive Director in the administration of all LIU programs and services; to coordinate the delivery and integration of services provided by Adult Education Services, Nonpublic School Services, Language Instruction Education Program, and the Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness; to provide assistance to LEAs in the areas of school/district planning and improvement and in the acquisition of resources associated with more effective and efficient delivery of instructional services; to foster collaborative initiatives addressing PA and LEA needs, drawing on the full resources of the IU, its constituent school systems and network of agency and community partners; and to provide leadership of the LIU 12 as a member of the Cabinet and Leadership Team.
Pennsylvania Department of Education issued Letter of Eligibility or Commission Qualification Letter, required.
A commission to serve the schools of the Commonwealth as Executive Director, Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12, required.
An earned doctorate or a master's degree, plus 40 hours of graduate study successfully completed at a state-approved college or university, preferred.
Six years of experience in education work at the elementary, secondary, county office, intermediate unit, state department of education, or state approved college or university level. In three (3) of these six (6) years the applicant shall have served successfully in a management or supervisory capacity.
Demonstrated potential for leadership, including:
The use of enlightened management techniques in the administration of the Intermediate Unit.
The capacity to evaluate and propose educational program changes, and to stimulate staff acceptance and implementation of such change
Ability to communicate and facilitate liaison between the Intermediate Unit and the Pennsylvania Department of Education, as well as between and among component districts.
Must demonstrate proficiency with a variety of technology tools.
Must be highly organized; possess good communication skills; be highly confidential at all times; act as a team player; be flexible to work on multiple tasks; pay attention to detail; be able to learn new skills and deal with constant change.
Terms of Employment
Commissioned as Assistant Executive Director of Lincoln Intermediate Unit No. 12 for a four-year term. Twelve-month year. Salary to be determined by the Board of Directors.
