In Fremont, California, we serve global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing innovative optical components & modules to support our customer's next generation networks. We are looking for an Assistant Engineer to join our team. This person will be responsible for fiber optical alignment, assembling and testing the optical products and solutions that are used in telecom and datacom industries.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in engineering projects and products planning and developing

  • Build product prototypes including optical alignment, assembling and testing

  • Perform optical component and chip inspection

  • Perform fiber optical alignment, component fixing, module assembling and testing

  • Perform various engineering experiments on fiber optical products

  • Diagnose engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information

  • Hands on technical support of manufacturing with technical solutions

  • Coordinates product activities with engineering and manufacturing

  • Follow up documentation and protocol to perform system alignment and calibration.

Who You Are

  • High school diploma.

  • At least 6 years (3 plus for college graduate) hands on fiber optical alignment, assembling and testing experience.

  • Understanding of basic optical components and fiberoptic devices

  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Record keeping and data documentation skills.

  • Understand ESD safety and laser protection.

What Puts You Ahead

  • College degree

  • 10 plus years' experience in fiber optical alignment, assembling and testing

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin

  • Motivated self-starter and independent worker

  • Passed 6S and ISO9001/TL9000 training.

  • Understand DOE concept.

For this role, we anticipate paying a yearly salary of $60-80k. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
