The Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) office will be effectively managed through EDS activities related to the overall operations of the department. Oversight will be given to EDS volunteer recruitment.. EDS partnerships with local, regional and state government and corporate resource development will also be managed as directed.



  • Strengthen and maintain organization relations with local, county and regional government and voluntary organizations as directed.

  • Assist with scheduling of EDS and SATERN meetings

  • Assist with volunteer recruitment, training and programming to meet needs of divisional field operations both on daily basis and during major disaster events

  • Assist with ongoing trainings and seminars utilizing National Standard course seminars

  • Process and respond to in-kind donations

  • Maintain records and inventory for the following

  • EDS equipment (canteens, generators, cambros, coffee makers etc.)

  • Records of all volunteers and SATERN members

  • Records of volunteers an equipment distributed to national disasters

  • Service records on canteen inspections and repairs

  • Billing and payments via DHQ procedures to approved vendors

  • In-house stock room of food, drink, emergency clothing, cots, blankets, etc.

  • Attend meetings or visit EDS teams as directed by EDS Director

  • Respond to emergency calls as needed either as primary or secondary response.

The goal of our staff is to lead efforts within the six counties that we serve to achieve their highest quality of life through teamwork, integrity and respect.  We offer the following opportunity to serve:</em></strong><br /> <br /> <strong>JOB DESCRIPTION:</strong>   <br /> <br /> Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, Director of AASA oversees: 1) programmatic contracted and direct service purchase activities, 2) assigned planning activities in the Annual Implementation Plan, and 3) new programs, services, and fund development.  Also develops and implements strategies to ensure effective network training. Maintains full responsibility for the AASA annual budget development and staying within appropriate guidelines directed by the CEO. Collaborates with the CFO to ensure effective contract management and grant implementation and to coordinate resource and network development activities. The Director of AASA will: <ul> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Oversee business management of the service provider network. Establish, foster and maintain collaborative working relationships with the community's service provider leadership and other allies. Work with staff, contracts and direct service purchase (DSP) providers to negotiate terms of services and execute contracts or bid agreements for various social services. Lead the development of contract Request for Proposals.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Coordinate efforts to identify financial and other resources available to expand services and respond to older adult needs; maintains oversight for grant implementation. Identify public/private partnerships to expand service delivery. Work with Finance Department to manage A/P budgets for vendors, service providers and contractors.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Maintain knowledge of all Aging & Adult Services Agency (AASA) and Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS) funding categories and programmatic service standards.  Oversee the development of strategies for use of the service funds which result in the highest quality, evidence-based and outcome-focused services for target populations that may be achieved within the scope of current and potential resources available to support these programs.</li> <li style="padding: 0; margin: 0;">Evaluate and develop new products and business methods to enhance the impact of service delivery on older adults.
