We are currently seeking an Assistant E-Commerce Editor for our Web Studio in Long Island City, NY. This position will be responsible for writing product copy, landing pages, and other editorial copy on the Barneys New York e-commerce websites: & .


  • Write editorial product copy across multiple luxury categoriesready-to-wear, shoes, bags, beauty, jewelry, home, and children'son-site in our Long Island City, NY, Web Studio and in NYC showrooms

  • Write landing page and special copy

  • With Senior E-Commerce Editor, liaison with Corporate Copy teams to write marketing and editorial copy for The Window

  • Work hands-on with products

  • Handle heavy copy flow, partnering with copyediting, merchandising, styling, photography, buying, and inventory teams to ensure accurate product copy is posted in a timely manner

  • Manage research documents to support team efficiency.

  • Research products and designers to uncover benefit-focused product details; attend store clinics to gather information

  • Work in a CMS, HTML editor, and for some off-site shoots, MS Excel


  • 2+ years' experience writing e-commerce product/editorial copy. Experience with luxury fashion preferred.

  • Strong command of English language, grammar, spelling, and usage.

  • Drive to write accurate, precise copy that serves our luxury online customers as well as our heritage and artisanal vendors and follows our house style.

  • Attention to detail, competence at juggling multiple projects, and ability to stay focused and meet tight deadlines.

  • A B.A. in English, communications, fashion merchandising, or equivalent work experience.

  • An online portfolio of product copy/editorial samplesfashion blogging a plus.

  • Proficiency with CMS, HTML editor, MS Excel, and other digital programs.

VIEW JOBS 12/12/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-12T00:00 <p>Ensure that the day-to-day operations of the center are consistent with the school-based model as they relate to the program areas ensuring that program objectives and outcomes are met and that staff is supervised. The Assistant Director will also engage in well-defined teaching/training opportunities with children and/or young adults. Additionally, the AD will identify and develop site-specific age-appropriate curriculum and lessons for the after school and summer camp programs.</p><p><br></p> <p><strong>Major Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the management and supervision of the After School Program, Summer Camp, and other special programs involving participants in the School.</li> <li>In conjunction with the Program Coordinator plan, organize and manage special events as assigned Director, or as planned by on-site staff.</li> <li>Assist in designing and implementing holiday programming.</li> <li>Supervise the day-to-day functions of the programming.</li> <li>Assist with overseeing the SYEP Programs in a manner that supports the supervisor of the program and ensures that on-site programmatic and operational needs are met.</li> <li>Collect and review weekly, monthly, written and verbal reports as requested from program staff. Also, submit same as requested by the Program Director</li> <li>Maintain collaborative relationships with the school administration, NYC Department of Health, Office of Food and Nutrition Services, and other agencies as appropriate.</li> <li>Develop relationships with parents through parent involvement activities and regular communication.</li> <li>Review daily attendance sheets and enter into DYCD Online and present to the Program Director.</li> <li>Participate in hiring educational, support, and program staff with the Program Director.</li> <li>Assure the quality of the programming through job orientation, regular staff supervision, program evaluation, staff training, program development, etc.</li> <li>Evaluate staff performance in December, June, and August.</li> <li>Maintain and ensure that all administrative details of the program are implemented: program registration, student application/enrollment forms, attendance, employee documentation, and, supply ordering, etc.</li> <li>Ensure that incident reports (accidents, injuries, altercations, etc.) are submitted no later than the date of occurrence.</li> <li>Review reports and provide copies to the Program Director for record keeping purposes.</li> <li>In the absence or when assigned of the Program Directors, represent Riis in meetings, school and outside of the agency.</li> <li>Provide Administrative coverage in the absence of the Program Director.</li> <li>Develop and maintain a professional relationship with designated school staff. Ensure school goals and needs are reflected in Riis programming.</li> <li>Create activity plans. Group Leaders, Youth Workers and Activity Specialists with effective delivery of lessons.</li> <li>Adhere to all Department of Health and New York State OCFS policies and standards.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with peers, participants, supervisors and school administration.</li> <li>Actively participate in all training sessions, designated meetings and special events.</li> <li>Maintain all Monthly Documents.</li> <li>Any other duties deemed necessary by the Program Director.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>A Bachelor’s degree preferred from an accredited college or university in Administration, Recreation, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.</li> <li>A minimum of three years professional paid work experience in a non-profit youth or social service agency in an administrative or managerial capacity</li> <li>The Assistant Director reports directly to the Program Director.</li> <li>Bilingual a PLUS</li> </ul> Jacob A.
