Position Overview
Pillar Innovations is an Industrial Solutions and Service Company with 15 years of experience in the Energy, Mining, Manufacturing, Industrial Construction, Aggregate, and Renewables Industries. The Corporate Headquarters are located in Grantsville, MD with several offices throughout the country.
As the Assistant Division Manager, the general role is to assist the Division Manager in coordinating business operations for the Pillar Knoxville Division.
This individual will provide leadership and assistance to employees supporting a wide range of trades through various constructions, mechanical and industrial projects. This position will require a flexible schedule that may include extended hours, weekends, holidays and evenings.
The Assistant Division Manager will report to the Division Manager and will work primarily out of the Knoxville location.
What You'll Do
Assisting with coordinating daily operations of the Knoxville, TN Division
Keeping employees informed on matters pertaining to their operations
Continuously improving all aspects of divisional operations to improve quality of service, efficiency of department, employee and equipment performance
Assisting with managing workflow and inventory to support daily operations
Assisting with fleet management
Assisting with scheduling manpower for the division
Overseeing cleanliness and organization of the shop
Assisting with morning coordination of employees assembled within the shop
Following proper safety and incident reporting procedures
Ensuring proper communication to Division on all pertinent issues
Listening and responding immediately with an appropriate amount of concern to all customer and employee issues
Performing other duties as assigned and assist in other areas of the company as required

What You'll Bring
High school diploma required
Prior administrative / management experience in managing complex and multi-faceted operations with competing priorities is required
Knowledge of sound and consistent management practices and principles, including well developed human relation skills
Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent communications skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organize and supervise subordinate personnel
Effective and diplomatic verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
Must be able to work well with co-workers in a team environment
Demonstrate a keen awareness of safety and safe practices and making safety a top priority
Willingness to undergo a thorough background and drug screening process is required
Working Conditions
Walk / use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel
Wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.
Be safety and customer-focused, without exception
