Assistant Dispatch Manager

The Assistant Fleet Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day fleet activities to meet established operating, standards and procedural guideline. This is accomplished primarily through: hiring, training, and motivating franchise employees; controlling labor costs; managing daily fleet operations; and consistently exceeding customer expectations. The Assistant Fleet Manager ensures the franchise is consistently operating in compliance with the franchise agreement, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK system standards, and applicable laws and regulations. The Assistant Fleet Manager should have general knowledge of functional support areas, including our core business, Human Resources, Training and Payroll.


  • $18 per hour + performance-based bonus!

  • Full time work: Monday - Saturdays, 7:30am start time, Wednesdays off

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and 401K

  • Weekly pay

  • Responsible for the direction and day-to-day supervision of all 60 to 80, Movers and Drivers.


  • Promote and protect the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK brand

  • Determines staffing requirements, interview, hires and trains new employees, or oversees these processes

  • Responsible for employee accountability and adherence to franchise standards and policies through coaching and mentoring.

  • Coaches and Mentors Employees below 4.80 Overall Satisfaction or below 92% Referral Rate.

  • Employee scheduling and dispatch of movers and drivers

  • Oversees all workers compensation claims

  • Reviews employee development and corrective action programs

  • Oversees the fleet maintenance and equipment inventory programs

  • Ensures compliance with all DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines

  • Handles customer concerns and oversees damage resolution process

  • Responsible for being the "on-call" emergency contact outside of normal business hours

  • Participates in regular training and development programs offered


  • Ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of management experience

  • Must be able to lift heavy items and have the stamina to perform moves as needed

  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass DOT physical in order to drive commercial class vehicles

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop and direct people

  • Ability to assess the performance of self, employees and franchise to make improvements or take corrective action

  • Strong decision making ability

  • Understanding of and commitment to customer service and the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK core values

  • Must be proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook

Your Opportunity The Project Manager Assistant provides timely, accurate, and professional project and administrative support to architectural leadership and project management staff in keeping with Stantec's high standards. Your Key Responsibilities * Provides dedicated project and administrative support to multiple studio leaders and project managers. * Assists with proposal writing process. * Create project setup forms and project files. * Assist Project Manager with maintaining current opportunities in Pipeline. * Administering contracts from initialization to close-out. * Responsible for tracking the status of proposals/contracts throughout approval process. * Codes invoices, verify budgets on tasks and correspond with subconsultants on revisions. * Work with Project Managers to keep project financials in order. * Assists with inputting project Estimates to Complete (ETC) on Oracle PM Dashboard. * Assist Office leader with project management compliance and internal project audits. * Develops and edits specification documents, if necessary. * Enters data and produces, analyzes, and distributes reports. * Assists PM's with WIP documentation. * Utilizes a variety of software programs to produce and manage deliverables. * Partners with studio members to enter and track project schedules and deliverables. * Assists with expense reporting. * Schedules and facilitates meetings, travel, and events. * Occasionally provides coverage for administrative staff; greeting visitors, handling telephones, mail, and staff inquiries and requests. * Provides onboarding training to new studio staff members. * Handles special projects in support of studio and BC objectives. Your Capabilities and Credentials * Professional experience in the architecture/engineering/planning industry is preferred. * Experience editing and creating specification documents. * Clear understanding of service offerings provided by the discipline(s) studio(s). * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office with expertise in Outlook, Word, and Excel and strong working knowledge of SharePoint. * Ability to deftly manipulate data within spreadsheets and database systems. * Strong analytical and research skills; with ability to synthesize data and ideas to make recommendations, produce reports, and identify trends and anomalies. * Strong knowledge of business communication standards for email, correspondence, and telephone etiquette. * Strong detail orientation and ability to organize and prioritize a diverse array of assignments and duties. * Understanding of project accounting principles. * Ability to operate telephone system and standard office equipment. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to maintain a professional, polished appearance and demeanor. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to read, interpret, and act upon the requirements outlined in agreements and contracts. Education and Experience Associates degree or higher in related field. 2 years' experience in a professional office environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
