The Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab seeks a strong project manager with a team-oriented approach for a role as an Assistant Director to support our growing capacity building portfolio. The candidate will be deeply engaged in planning and executing capacity building training events and will collaborate closely with other members of the team. The candidate should be a strong collaborator and should thrive in balancing multiple projects with overlapping deadlines, including project coordination and crafting learning experiences for a diverse array of participants.

This position can be based in our Washington DC headquarters on a hybrid schedule or remote within the US. Pay is commensurate with experience, education, and organizational equity, with offers starting at $55,000. Applications submitted by April 26, 2024 will be prioritized for consideration.

Job Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Track timelines and progress for event-related project deliverables.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Lead the organization and execution of international capacity building events focused on cyber and tech policy, including booking venues, audio and visual, translation services, catering etc.

  • Coordinate outreach to and confirmation of training participants and speakers/trainers.

  • Book travel and lodging for Atlantic Council staff, event participants and speakers, in coordination with the Associate Director for Capacity Building.

  • Order event materials and swag for capacity building-related programming.

  • Collect and process participant reimbursements requests.

  • Track invoices and payments to event vendors.

  • Collaborate with local partners on the organization and execution of regional events.

Capacity Building & Communities

  • Coordinate the inclusion of training alumni in Atlantic Council programming, including the Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge, Digital Sherlocks and other training programs and events.

  • Establish an alumni network on LinkedIn for past trainees.

  • Notify alumni of additional professional development opportunities, which may include online technical certifications and other programming.

  • Support the development of enrichment programming for existing capacity building events.

Qualifications

  • Seeking 2-4 years of professional experience in public policy, education and capacity building, and/or project management.

  • Strong interest in tech policy, capacity building, and community building.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fluid environment and multi-task to fulfill simultaneous overlapping demands in collaboration with a tight-knit team.

  • Excellent organizational, logistical, and administrative skills a must.

  • Project and event management skills.

  • Willingness to travel internationally and work extended hours.

  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Intercultural competencies, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
