Advertised Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Student Customer Services works in conjunction with the Director to: promote, manage and model the customer service focus for the Bursar's Office; develop and administer communication regarding inquiries and requests; assist customers in person, electronically and via telephone; ensure all responsibilities are fulfilled and system functionalities (Touchnet) are operating optimally for the cashiering area; manage departmental relations with regards to E-Commerce, PCI compliance, and other needs as appropriate; develop and implement training opportunities for new and current staff for cashiering, Touchnet, Banner, etc.; assist with updating/maintaining Bursar website and social media communication; assist with developing and maintaining written procedures for all areas of customer service; assist with Phone Tree activity and monitoring; serve on Director's behalf when Director is absent/unavailable.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of best customer service practice. Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Listening skills ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns, and overcome objections. Problem analysis and problem solving skills and customer service orientation.
Great organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent judgment, adaptability and patience. Ability to work part of a team work.
Stress tolerance, resilience, persuasiveness, tenacious with a strong work ethic and a self-starter. Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and adapt to change within a fast-paced business environment. Possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers. Ability to develop and maintain healthy work relations with fellow employees.
