Overview

The Assistant Director aids the Program Director in overseeing day to day program operations to support the delivery of high quality, accessible, and responsive services to clients. The Assistant Director may be assigned direct responsibility for particular program elements, initiatives, or program teams. The Assistant Director provides leadership and professional development to program staff, provides direct support for work with clients and families, and engages effectively with external partners to support client care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide interventions including therapy (individual, group, family) and case management for identified students based on school-based referrals, individualized clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment planning

  • Engage caregivers in the treatment process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs. Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage

  • Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to assist the director in overseeing the overall quality and operations of the program

  • Responsible for oversight of particular program content areas or program improvement initiatives, as assigned

  • Provide leadership in the delivery of high-quality client care grounded in Seneca's values, guided by the principles of Unconditional Care, and in adherence to relevant governing standards

  • Provide direct supervision of program managers, direct care, and administrative support staff including staff with academic, behavioral, and clinical backgrounds

  • Provide leadership to the program staff team, cultivating a program culture that supports safety, engagement, collaboration, and ongoing learning

  • Cultivate effective partnerships with applicable county offices, school districts, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other community providers, and facilitate effective training for partners, as requested

  • Provide oversight of the program budget related to assigned areas and take action to ensure financial sustainability

  • Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training

  • This may include intervening with the clients' behavioral program through physical management of the clients, if applicable. Training in additional crisis intervention modalities such as CPI may be required

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology

  • Registered with the California BBS

  • Demonstrate record of effective leadership of other adults

  • TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements

  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy

  • Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or an HR-approved medical/religious exemption

Schedule

  • School based Schedule

  • Monday to Friday: 8 AM- 4:30 PM (ability to work occasional flexible schedule when the school needs vary)

  • 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days

  • Starting at $89,710-$103,710

  • As of July 7th, this starting range will increase to $92,401-$106,401

  • Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role

  • Salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam
