Job Overview:

The Assistant Director, Revenue Cycle provides vision, strategic direction and leadership for end-to-end revenue cycle capabilities that support the long-term objectives, mission and vision of the Organization. The Assistant Director, Revenue Cycle responsibilities include implementing the current structural plan and developing an excellent revenue cycle team capable of innovating and continuously improving processes, integration and a customer-friendly financial experience. The position leads through a cross department organizational structure that shares leadership with all leaders (including clinical) and works to unify the entire Organization. As one of the primary areas of focus for member financial interactions, the Assistant Director, Revenue Cycle plays a key role in defining, delivering and enhancing the consumer financial experience within the Organization.

Duties:

  • Support the Revenue Cycle Director in achieving financial objectives and strategies day to day.

  • Provide overall direction and goals for the revenue cycle team with a focus on integration with the operational team.

  • · Establish short and long-term goals; develop and lead implementation of the long-term vision and goals to incorporate organizational values into the organizations corporate culture.

  • Development of EHR experts with the revenue cycle team to be seen as an expert in revenue cycle aspects.

  • Make recommendations for staffing models that serve the organization.

  • Strategically evaluate new opportunities for growth from a revenue cycle perspective including reporting back on the financial viability of projects.

  • Ensure productivity of billing and collections teams by developing and/or updating billing and collection processes, methods, guidelines, policies and best practices.

  • Collaborates with Director to ensure responsibilities of RC departments are managed and functioning as needed.

  • Collaborates with Patient Engagement to support pre-registration through training and education.

  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of Accounts Receivable metrics, including aging reports and denial rates.

  • Provide oversight for the credentialing department and works to ensure timely completion with regulatory organizational standards.

  • Review payer contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with negotiated terms, fee schedules and reimbursement rates.

  • Serve as a leader, advisor, advocate and liaison, to support, empower and educate on best practices with the revenue cycle with specific regards to efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Will be a resource in interviewing, hiring, employee evaluations, and disciplinary action including termination.

  • Develop and performs data quality reviews.

  • Assist with other departmental initiatives including writing and testing policies and procedures, internal audit test work, and others as deemed necessary.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years' business office and health care management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or business-related field.

  • Experience in a Clinic, FQHC, RHC, or hospital.

  • Certified Professional Coder.

  • Certified Professional Biller.
