GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: To create and maintain a cultural, social, and academic environment to facilitate the growth and development of the individual student by offering a range of student involvement and leadership activities using, among other things, a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens. Strategically design opportunities and services to meet the needs and hopes of students of various identity groups. The Assistant Director of Club Development and Programming will be part of the Student Development team that offers programs and services for students at Fitchburg State University.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Student Employment and Graduate Students
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Advising The Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB) to offer a wide array of large-scale programs, both social and co-curricular. Programs may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support the Executive Board and Chairs to host events that would engage the campus community
Attend FAB events
Host a wide array of active and passive programs
Track attendance for monthly reports
Coordinate Spring Week events
Review and submit contracts for vendors
Develop and implement Club Development opportunities to focus on building a sense of belonging for the students of Fitchburg State University.
Work to develop a campus-wide events calendar.
Offer various club trainings throughout the semester (such as recruitment and retention, budget and spending, and other areas as needed)
Assess and Evaluate the needs of the clubs and organizations
Use FalConnect (campus-wide engagement software)
Support newly recognized clubs by the Student Government Association
Oversight of the Department of Student Development's Welcome Week(s) Program to be hosted each semester.
Work with Campus Partners to showcase on-campus events hosted to engage returning, transfer, and incoming students.
Responsible for overall leadership, direction, coordination, and legal landscape of Greek Life, advising Greek Council, Panhellenic, and their subcommittees:
Support the growth of Greek Life by bringing historically black and brown Greek organizations to campus;
Offer ongoing training for our Greek organizations and attend Greek Life conferences and workshops on topics such as recruitment, expansion, and policies;
Maintain proper records for all Greek Organizations, including but not limited to grade checks, sorority, and fraternity new member records;
Create, maintain, and enforce Fraternity and Sorority (Panhellenic) policies;
Introduce and implement assessment efforts for Greek Life
Create a process for Graduate Student Engagement Opportunities
Laision to Flock to the Weekend, which is a process to engage students on campus from Thursday- Sunday
Supervise Graduate Fellow and potential for student staff
Assist with the development and implementation of Orientation, mainly in late-night programs
Assist in developing plans, policies, and procedures in the Student Development Office;
Collaborate with the Student Development team to offer campus-wide traditional events (i.e., Orientation, Rock the Block, Lighting of the Campus, etc.);
Support all campus-wide events, such as, but not limited to, Open Houses, Orientation, Homecoming, and Commencement;
Support event coverage when necessary, including evenings and weekends;
Support diversity initiatives for the campus and;
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Master's degree in student personnel or related field preferred, or significant relevant professional experience.
Large-scale and/or Programming Board experience preferred.
Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion work and the ability to appropriately and effectively understand and adapt to cultural differences within a group environment.
Knowledge of student development and operation practices and procedures;
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and excellent time management skills;
Student/group leadership experience is required, and student-staff supervision experience is desirable.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse constituent base, including students, parents, Fitchburg State Employees, and outside vendors;
Computer skills and familiarity with various software programs and;
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI check), a SORI and a background check satisfactory to the university.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time benefited, exempt, professional APA position. The annual salary range for this position is $57K - $60K. The application deadline is May 20, 2024 and the tentative start date for this position is August 5, 2024.
