Pay: $110,000 - $137,000 per year

Job Description:

The Assistant Director, People Leaves Administration, under the oversight of the Director of Benefits and Total Rewards, is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Leaves Administration team, all healthcare delivery system leaves programs, and requests for accommodations to include Disability, Workers Compensation, Parental Leave, and all leaves required under federal and state specific laws. The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing and ensuring operational efficiency while employing consistency in administration. This is a hands-on role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement best practice programs, policies and procedures through the entire life cycle of leave administration, including new leave processing, communication, document review, return to work processes, follow-up and accommodation requests

  • Develop procedural guidelines and workflow templates that effectively address the implementation of these programs and the resolution of conflicts that may arise in their administration

  • Ensure high quality delivery of efficient regulation and policy compliant leave administration services and systems in a drive towards optimal performance and team member satisfaction

  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Leaves Administration team, transactional processing, and data support for team member leaves

  • Curate leave communication packages to promote understanding and education of leave eligibility, entitlement and application process

  • Communicate with team members, as needed, regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that team members are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave

  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices

  • Preserves confidentiality of team member medical documentation and files

  • Research and remain abreast of all regulatory changes ensuring compliance with all federal, state and industry specific mandates

  • Develop and manage effective mechanism for seamless monitoring and reporting of leave data

  • Create and distribute periodic leave reports to leadership and other appropriate stakeholders

  • Lead all applicable leave related federal and state compliance reporting requirements

  • Actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure leave of absence notifications, absence management tasks, and leave reporting requirements are fulfilled

  • Serve as subject matter expert on all leave programs and able educate leadership and team members, when deemed necessary

  • Provides leadership, consultation and coordination for leave programs and related initiatives

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • 7+ years progressive experience in leave administration, with 3 years supervisory experience required

  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred, preferably in Human Resources Management or a related field

  • Extensive knowledge of FMLA, Workers Compensation ADA, PFL, and Disability processing

  • Experience with union team members, preferably 1199 SEIU, CIR, SSOBA and Local 30

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Current HR Professional Certification preferred

  • Proficiency in Google and MS Office suite of products

  • Knowledge of HRIS systems

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentially and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with individuals at varying levels within the healthcare delivery system

  • Commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging

  • Ability to be onsite 100% Monday through Friday
