The Assistant Director of Undergraduate Clinical Placement is a key member of the Lienhard School of Nursing Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) team, responsible for supporting the coordination and management of clinical placements for ABS (Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing), RNBS (Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing), and RN4 (Registered Nurse Year 4) students. This role involves collaborating with undergraduate nursing program directors, maintaining the clinical placement spreadsheet, and ensuring that all student placements are effectively assigned and managed. This role includes overseeing individual preceptorship placements, distributing surveys and rankings for elective and preceptorship placements, and overseeing clinical data EXXAT system. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring that faculty are properly onboarded with HR.

Position Duties

  • Assign students to clinical placements and preceptorships upon confirmation by the Director of Undergraduate Clinical Placement.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all students' clinical assignments.

  • Communicate placement details to students, ensuring they are well-prepared for their clinical experiences.

  • Provide support and assistance to students regarding their clinical placements and addressing any concerns or issues that arise.

  • Collaborate with the Director of Undergraduate Clinical Placement to ensure a smooth and efficient placement process.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to clinical placements.

  • Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Undergraduate Clinical Placement and other stakeholders to discuss placement strategies and improvements.

  • Oversee the coordination and management of individual preceptorship placements.

  • Distribute and manage surveys and rankings for elective and preceptorship placements.

  • Ensure courses, clinical sites, faculty assignments, and student assignments are updated appropriately each semester in EXXAT.

  • Generate and analyze reports from EXXAT to monitor placement success and identify areas for improvement.

  • Work closely with the HR department to ensure proper onboarding of faculty members involved in clinical placements.

  • Facilitate the orientation and integration of new faculty into the clinical placement process.

  • Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Supervision

Part-time staff & limited supervision over adjunct faculty.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Healthcare Administration, Computer Science & Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • At least six years of experience in clinical placement coordination or a related administrative role in healthcare or academic settings.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Proficiency in using EXXAT or similar clinical placement software.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including students, faculty, and clinical site representatives.

  • Knowledge of HR processes for faculty onboarding is advantageous.

  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness, actively promoting diversity.

  • Highly organized, meticulous, efficient, and adept at time management.

  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Skilled in working with ethnically, culturally, and socially diverse student populations.

  • Discretion is essential for handling student privacy and clinical clearance matters.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team within the OAA.

  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly MS Office Suite; experience with Classes, EXXAT, and Banner is a plus.

Work Hours

Generally, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM with additional hours as needed. Partially remote as needed.
