Widener University is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, whose primary role as a key member of the Undergraduate Admissions Office team, will focus on recruitment of first year students. Reporting to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions, this position will actively manage a recruitment territory, build relationships, and be a positive and energetic representative of Widener University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to)

Essential Duties:

  • Manage recruitment territory as assigned (currently including Philadelphia, PA)

  • Participate in high school informative sessions and college fairs or similar events

  • Daily correspondence with students, parents, and counselors

  • Develop and implement yield programs and outreach

  • Review prospective student applications

  • Develop and conduct informative presentations for prospective students

  • Collaborate with internal administrators and faculty

  • Work with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software

  • Guide admissions staff development and training on recruiting a diverse student population


Past experience with the following responsibilities in any of these areas are desirable:

  • Website/graphic design/social media

  • On campus programming

  • Student Ambassador/Alumni Ambassador programs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Training and Experience Required)


  • A bachelor's degree

  • Minimum one (1+) year experience in admissions or related areas

  • Valid driver's license and own transportation

  • MS Office experience including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software experience


  • 2+ years' experience in admissions

  • Career interest in admissions or counseling

  • Experience in Higher Education

  • Experience in contributing to a climate of inclusivity and working with a diverse student body

  • Familiarity with Slate CRM

  • Familiarity with Colleague Student Information System

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:

  • Day and overnight recruitment travel is required by car and air

  • Valid driver's license and clear driving record.

  • Evening and weekend work is required

  • Must be able to sit and work on a computer for 2+ hours minimum at a time

  • Able to attend and stand at recruiting events, move between buildings and provide tours when necessary across campus

  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs

Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children. * Ability to speak, read, and write English.
