This position aids in undergraduate admission including recruitment, interviewing, advisement and enrollment of undergraduate degree seeking students. The successful candidate will be an out-of-the-box thinker, willing to explore strategies and activities for first time in college student recruitment. The successful candidate must show a commitment to work with and serve diverse staff members and students and understand and value the diversity colleagues and prospective students bring to campus. The candidate must possess outstanding written and oral communication skills, including public speaking. The candidate will be willing to work under pressure, work extended hours, such as early mornings, late evenings and weekends, as necessary throughout the year; and can handle multiple tasks at the same time.
Travel around the state for recruitment is necessary and the candidate will be responsible for the strategy of recruiting students to main campus in Lakewood.
This candidate is responsible for managing a specific territory and meeting their own admission counselor recruitment goals.
This is a full time, on campus position.
Travel, evening hours and some weekend work is required.
Essential Functions:
Recruiting prospective students through visiting high schools, community events, making presentations, virtual fairs, and college fairs within a designated territory. Recruitment events coverage will require availability in some evenings and weekends
Utilizing the CRM (Slate) to track applicant history and interactions
Managing the students in the admission enrollment funnel, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely manner
Reviewing applications, essays, scores, transcripts and any other materials submitted by the applicant for the purpose of making admissions decisions or recommendations.
Creating and maintaining professional relationships with industry stakeholders, school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the recruitment process.
Remaining in constant contact with prospective students through multiple mediums, including individual appointments, telephone, email, texting, social media sites and video/virtual chat.
Assist with the development of admission publications
Assist with supporting Financial Aid procedures, policies, and events
Serve as Department/Admissions Office liaisons for campus wide marketing and recruitment programs
Utilize the CRM (Slate) to report student application status to requested parties
Partner with contracted vendors to track and monitor applicants through the admission funnel
Provide feedback on operations processes to improve the student application experience
Assist with special projects and committee work as assigned
Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice, and service in all aspects of interaction
Perform other duties as assigned
The Assistant Directors of Admission will ensure that all communications follow brand guidelines and work to maintain and advance Georgian Court University's commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.
The position will report to the Assistant Vice President of Undergraduate Admission.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.
2-3 years of university admissions experience
Valid driver's license from state of residency
Willingness to travel as position requires travel in and out of state
Self-management to meet enrollment goals and strong communication skills to present strategy and recruitment objectives.
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational ability to manage multiple projects and to work independently and in a team.
Interest in and ability to relate to diverse pool of prospective high school students.
Knowledge of undergraduate admissions process required.
Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and relational databases desired.
Capability of standing for long periods and handling large quantities of recruitment materials.
