The purpose of this position is to assist the Director of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct and the Dean of Students with convening and chairing student disciplinary hearings; assisting with the preparation of the annual Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program notices and biannual review; training students and the university community on student code of conduct issues; serving on university boards as needed; presenting information to students and parents at new student and transfer orientation sessions; assisting with electronic filing using Maxient software; preparing reports for the Director of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct and the Dean of Students as requested; conducting disciplinary record checks as needed; and, using the IM Banner System for biographical and academic information on students and in order to place and remove disciplinary holds.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct reports to the Dean of Students Office in the Division of Student Affairs.
The primary function of the Office of Judicial Affairs/Student Conduct involves managing the administrative component of the university student judicial system which includes developing administrative protocols, documents, and publications; policy analysis and development; adjudication of student conduct violations; advisement and training to all campus student conduct hearing and appeals bodies; and educating the campus community on the student judicial system and policies.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years' experience in judicial affairs or student conduct at an accredited institution of higher education; master's degree with 1-3 years' experience
Required License or Certification Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
