The Department of Student Life at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Student Activities Assistant Director / Assistant Director of Student Center. The successful candidate will:
Take the lead in planning and organizing all regular events, both virtual and in person, including coffee-houses, tournaments, craft nights.
Manage, train, schedule and supervise College Work Study and Student Assistant staff in the Student Center.
Assist in the staffing coordination and organization of the information desk, special events, and other staffing, as needed.
Administer monthly staff meetings and staff development workshops/training.
Prepare and oversee facility for events. calendar, bulletin boards, etc.
Oversee and coordinate athletic and building equipment.
Assist Directors of Student Life and Student Center to communicate and promote all activities to students.
Assist with Orientation and Commencement and other major campus events.
Plan and implement Intramural Basketball and tournaments.
Oversee operations and inventory of soda and supplies room.
Assist the Director of Student Center with supervision and oversight of all policies related to the recognition and operation of student clubs and organizations.
Serve as co-advisor for Student Center Governing Board.
Be responsible for building tours.
Assist the Director of Student Center, as needed.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned and required.
