Job Summary

This position leads and manages professional and administrative duties related to operations of all indoor and outdoor recreation facilities including a 215,000 sq ft Recreation Center and a 70-acre Outdoor Recreation Park. Coordinates all maintenance of facilities and equipment, inventory, custodial, and grounds needs. Develops plans related to facilities planning, space utilization and management, safety and accessibility requirements, relocation, and asset management. Coordinates operations to support 9 different program area functions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer all aspects of a comprehensive facility management program including daily operations, memberships, reservations/rentals, maintenance projects, staffing, and supervision of facilities

  • Facilitate semester and annual facility audit process for all 3 CRI sites

  • Responsible for the supervision of a full-time Maintenance Supervisor

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and supervise 40-50 student employees including graduate assistants, facility supervisors, and facility assistants

  • Provide strategic planning and oversight for all facility and operational needs including maintenance, custodial, grounds, capital projects, event coordination, facility scheduling, and use

  • Serve as project coordinator for a variety of special projects that relate to both strategic vision and operational needs for the department including invoice management, membership sales, and revenue generation

  • Develop facility rental contracts/special event coordination for internal and external users

  • Manage the departmental asset control/inventory records

  • Develop for review and approval any pertinent department/program area policies, procedures, and operations manuals

  • Provide ongoing semester and annual updates on pertinent measures of success including participation, assessment data, financial status, and area happenings

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of work experience in recreation, maintenance, or facility management with a strong background in, coordination, staff supervision, and/or project management

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to administer multiple on-going tasks and follow complex administrative procedures

Preferred Educational Qualifications

  • Master's Degree

Preferred Experience

  • Three (3) or more years supervisory experience

  • Leadership of a program or unit related to recreation, facility management, or maintenance

  • Experience in campus recreation or a higher education institution

  • Experience in Vermont Systems, RecTrac management software

Proposed Salary

$50,500 - $56,600

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
