Essential Functions:
Provides leadership for the design and implementation of curricula and learning systems that support the learning goals of the SASED programs.
Collaborates with program administrators and coordinators to establish and assess student learning outcomes.
Provides leadership for the evaluation of SASED programs and the design of program improvement plans.
Provides leadership for the utilization of data related to student learning and implications for improving student achievement.
Coordinates the collection, analysis, and utilization of SASED/local assessment data.
Coordinates the collection, analysis, and utilization of state assessment data.
Provides leadership for coordination and articulation of SASED programs for students with disabilities from age 3-22.
Provides leadership for needs assessment and development of new programs and services.
Provides leadership for activities and processes that support student learning, including approval of new or modified curricula, adoption of education materials, and approval of curriculum projects.
Collaborates with the Executive Director and leadership team to create and implement staff development programs that align with student learning and behavioral goals.
Collaborates with program administrators and coordinators to configure programs/services and classrooms for each school year.
Provides oversight for SASED Extended School Year (ESY) program and assigns the daily supervision for ESY program.
Collaborates with Executive Director on the development, implementation and revision of administrative procedures related to programs, students, and learning.
Monitors compliance of programs and services with state and federal regulations.
Provides leadership for special projects as directed by the Executive Director.
Serves as Coordinator for DuPage/West Cook Oversight Committee.
Serves as a member of the SASED leadership team by actively participating in and contributing to the leadership team meetings and initiatives.
At the direction of Executive Director, attends the Board of Directors meetings and prepares reports for the Board meetings as needed.
Administers Board policies and administrative procedures related to Special Education.
Supervises, directs and evaluates the work of the Program Administrators including staffing pattern decisions for licensed, educational support and registered staff.
Ensures compliance with Medicaid reporting and time-studies for Medicaid reimbursement.
Collaborates with Executive Director and leadership team, oversees the completion and maintenance of special education reports and records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Professional Educator License with Director of Special Education Endorsement and at least one of the following endorsements: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1), Speech and Language Pathologist (non-teaching), School Social Worker, or School Psychologist
Illinois State Board of Education issued teacher and principal evaluator designations
PEL - Superintendent Director of Special Education Endorsement
