Pay

This position is an exempt position at pay grade 313.

Attendance

Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday

  • Friday, 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview

This position is responsible for planning and managing water and wastewater capital projects, management of the consent decree program to ensure all requirements are achieved, management of the cross-connection/back-flow program, design management of various water and wastewater pipe replacement contracts, and management of various aspects of water and wastewater operations. Additionally, coordination and communication with other departments such as Public Works, Development Services, and Engineering is a critical component of this position.

  • Develops and implements action plans to improve operations in the department.

  • Meet organizational goals and customer expectations; make decisions that produce high-quality results by applying technical knowledge, analyzing problems, and calculating risks.

  • Manage human, financial, and information resources strategically including overseeing preparation of department budget.

  • Manage the engineering or technical organizations required to accomplish the missions assigned.

  • Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience
  • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

Basis of Rating

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
