The Cypress is recruiting for a hospitality focused Assistant Director of Nursing to join our Health Center team!

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of the ADON we need you to have:

  • Functions in the capacity of Director of Nursing (DON) in her/his absence, will step in to complete duties as assigned and maintains the nursing department standards of best practices.

  • Participates and assists in the overall supervision of nursing care and ensuring a safe, clean environment in The Stewart Health Center.

  • Participates and assists with employee-related concerns, counseling, performance reviews, investigations, disciplinary actions and/or terminations as needed.

  • Monitors policies, procedures, and work performance standards ensuring they meet federal, state and local regulations.

  • Coordinates, participates and leads with orientation of nursing personnel to the Stewart Health Center clinical programs and maintain ongoing audits of competency in nursing skills and documentation as such.

  • Performs and administers direct nursing care including medication and treatment administration, venipuncture, and other care-related tasks as necessary.

  • Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.

  • Audits accuracy and completeness of medical records.

  • Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse.

  • Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of North Carolina with no findings of abuse, neglect or misappropriation of resident property.

  • Current CPR and BLS certification.

  • Staff Development, Infection Control, and Quality Improvement experience with a good understanding of long-term care, rehabilitation, skilled and restorative nursing.

  • Three to five years of supervisory experience preferred.
