Assistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the ADON provides clinical guidance related to the agency's nursing care components (i.e., RN, LPN, CNA) ensuring that the care follows state, federal, and agency policies. This guidance may include but is not limited to technical skills, care planning, coordination with other team members and outside agencies involved in a client's medical care, communication and interaction with clients and families, both in person and by telephone.
Executes specific administrative responsibilities (e.g, process lab results, consult wound care, manage infection log) as delegated by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
Executes nursing-focused components of the agency's Quality Assurance-Process Improvement (QAPI) program, as delegated by the Agency Administrator and Director of Nursing.
Assists with new hire orientation, including developing training schedules, assessing competencies/skills, and organizing preceptor-lead training solutions, as delegated by the Director of Nursing.
Contributes to regular agency Policy/Procedure review to help the company remain prepared for audit or inspection.
Direct supervisor of the C.N.A. care team.
Requirements
Unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Colorado
1-3 years experience with the geriatric population in long-term care or assisted living
Knowledge of the aging process, dementia and disabilities
