Assistant Director Of Nursing (Adon) - Long Term Care Facility

Job Overview:

As the ADON, you will work under the administrative guidance of the Director of Nursing (DON) to enhance systems, ensure outstanding nursing practice, and maintain fiscal responsibility while delivering quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the Performance Improvement Program to align with organizational standards and participate in divisional committees.
• Manage the PRI & MDS process to maximize reimbursement capabilities.
• Represent the Nursing Department in safety committees and coordinate employee safety initiatives.
• Coordinate attendance procedures and carry out daily supervisory responsibilities.
• Step into Nurse Manager roles as needed and participate in interviewing CNA candidates.
• Foster a supportive environment that embraces change and innovation.

Requirements:

Education:

• Minimum: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or active pursuit thereof.
• Preferred: Advanced nursing degree.

Licensure:

• Current New York State Registered Professional Nursing License.

Experience:

• Minimum: Four years of managerial experience and two years in a long-term care setting with demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Preferred: Previous experience at the Assistant Director level.

Skills:

• Proven relationship-building abilities with staff, residents, families, and the public.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff members.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
