Job Description:
Bellarmine University seeks applications for an Assistant Director of Identity and Inclusion.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide support and development for students from underrepresented populations through 1:1 intervention helping students to develop strategies to solve academic and personal programs
Hire, train, and supervise student workers and the Graduate Assistant
Serve as the primary advisor to one or more underrepresented student groups (RSO's).
Assist the Director and COII College Coach with planning, assessment, and implementation of KOC, mentoring initiatives, and planning fall break and spring break trips.
Develop, implement, and evaluate ongoing monthly programs, in collaboration with university stakeholders, designed to increase campus awareness and appreciation of underrepresented students and groups on campus, such as cultural history and heritage celebrations (i.e., Black History Month, Latinx/Hispanic Heritage Month, Women's History Month, Native American Heritage Month, PRIDE/LGBTQ+ History Month, Asian/Asian American/Pacific Islander Heritage Month).
Serve on the Student Success Retention Taskforce and the President's Advisory Board for Mission
Facilitate large-scale programming events for the office which will include but is not limited to the Multicultural Scholarship Pageant and Human Library
Collaborate with various offices across campus on awareness, belonging, civility and social justice programming.
Refer students, to appropriate campus supports when necessary
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree; Master's degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Counseling or related field preferred.
Experience working with underrepresented college-age individuals.
Knowledge of social justice, diverse identities, intersectional approaches to programming, and inclusion.
