Assists the Director of Financial Aid in performing all functions required for successful operation of the Financial Aid OfficeCounsel students in all aspects of SUNY Adirondack Financial Aid programs.
Independently maintains responsibility for administration of certain programs.
Uses knowledge of financial aid regulations to certify all types of federal, state and SUNY Adirondack financial aid programs.
Counsels students and families on all aspects of SUNY Adirondack's financial aid programs.
Uses with expertise all appropriate office hardware and software including but not limited to Banner, and all appropriate state and federal software related to financial aid.
Coordinates review of financial aid recipients to ensure all federal and state standards have been met.
Administers one or more major programs.(e.g., loans, work-study, scholarships)
Oversees the NYS Award Certification process.
Speaks to various on- and off-campus groups on the topic of financial aid.
Able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Is involved in professional growth by attending informational meetings and workshops on financial aid. Keeps abreast within the field through reading of materials and accessing carious financial aid list servers.
Contributes new ideas for the processing of financial aid.
Assists in the ongoing development of the Banner Financial Aid module.
Continues to develop financial aid and counseling skills.
Acts in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid.
Other duties as assigned by the President.
Bachelor Degree is minimally required in related area of finance and/or counseling;
Master's preferred
Years of Experience
3 - 5 years of related experience in higher education financial aid required.
