The successful candidate is responsible for analyzing the financial needs of student applicants, developing an appropriate financial aid package, and awarding funds as well as supporting the Director in meeting the administrative needs of the office which includes program management, personnel development, fiscal management, public Information and long-range planning and development. Position Profile
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid will serve as primary financial aid advising administrator, reviewing and processing student financial aid applications; performing verification as required by awarding agencies, federal and state regulations, and University policies. Other responsibilities included but not limited to are serving as a liaison with parents and students, campus faculty, and administrators, and other interests to provide students and the University with effective and efficient service; effectively administers state, federal, University, CCSU Foundation, and other financial aid related programs to meet the needs of students and the University; providing diligent administration of university aid programs to prevent over awards of scholarships, guaranteed student loans, and work-study earnings; assisting the Director in the overall coordination, administration and planning of the office and assisting the Associate Director with the maintenance and administration of the software required to administer and deliver financial aid programs.
Ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings.

Education:
All applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree.
Experience and Training:
A minimum of three years in financial aid administration, along with experience in a service-oriented environment and familiarity with diverse populations.
Demonstrated knowledge of SCT and/or Banner computer systems or comparable student information management system.
Credentials and/or experience substantially comparable to the above may also be considered.
Ideal Candidate
Preference shall be given to applicants that possess:
An advanced degree in Counseling, Student Development, or Accounting.

Compensation and Employee Benefits
The Assistant Director of Financial Aid is compensated at the Administrator III salary level in accordance with the State University Organization of Administrative Faculty (SUOAF) Collective Bargaining Union Agreement.
