The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics at Columbia University offer a joint MA program in the Mathematics of Finance (MAFN). Currently aproximately 100 students enter the program each September. Most stay for 2 or 3 semesters and then seek jobs in the financial industry in the US and abroad.

Those who stay for 3 semesters also look for summer internships. The program is seeking an individual to find employment opportunities and provide job placement services and related professional services to the MAFN program and students. This position reports to the Director of MAFN. Minimum Qualifications for Grade

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 3 years of related experience. Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Knowledge of the finance industry. 2 years of experience in recruiting or job placement within the finance industry. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Initiative and problem-solving ability. Able to work independently under minimal supervision. Special Instructions Preferred Qualifications Essential Functions (50%) Places students in appropriate industry jobs and internships.

Develops and maintains relationships with potential employers. Tracks employer needs and looks for suitable matches with the interests and capabilities of individual MAFN students.

(10%) Plans, organizes, and executes events for employers and MAFN students, including recruitment events, presentations by employers, on-campus interviews, and career education events and workshops.

(10%) Provides advice on job searches, resumes, cover letters, applications, and interviews.

(10%) Tracks student internship and employment results. Provides analysis and reporting on first placement positions of program graduates.

(10%) Manages the MAFN alumni network. Keeps track of the alumni and organizes alumni events.

(10%) Other duties and special projects as assigned. Additional Essential Functions (Limit to 3950 characters.) Special Indications
