Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, the Prospect Strategy Manager is responsible for analyzing data and providing strategic information on achieving advancement and alumni engagement goals. This position will manage donor analytics data and collaborate with the Advancement and Alumni Engagement staff to provide recommendations-based analysis to ensure the team is maximizing fundraising potential across giving channels.

Summary

The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement is a key member of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing an alumni engagement strategy and supporting multiple alumni communities with a special focus on current students and young alumni (5-7 years post-graduation). This position provides oversight and support to multiple alumni groups and identifies opportunities to expand alumni engagement outreach and initiatives. This role will also increase pipeline development, alumni career connections, campus partner alignment, and affinity connections, working towards increasing the percentage of alumni engaged and other key metrics. This role offers vital support for the Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement through communications, events, strategy, and administrative work.

This position is based in Chicago, requires occasional non-traditional work hours, and up to 20% travel.

Essential Responsibilities

Database, Website Management and Reporting:

  • Use data analytics to track alumni engagement and measure the success of engagement initiatives.

  • Oversee updates to the alumni website.

  • Generate reports on alumni engagement metrics and outcomes using data, surveys, and feedback.

Alumni Outreach and Communication:

  • Oversee and execute all alumni-specific social media communications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) with the leadership and guidance of the Office of Advancement and in coordination with University Marketing and Communications.

  • Manage print and digital communications, event marketing, and promotional materials for Alumni Engagement purposes. Including, but not limited to, email communications, Viking Voice, print invitations and letters, North Parker alumni notes, etc.

Collaboration with Internal and External partners:

  • Act as a liaison between university departments and student organizations to build partnerships to facilitate student and post-grad support and success.

  • Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Engagement, develop external (alumni leaders, donors, and volunteers) and internal (department heads, administrators, faculty, staff, and students) relationships to collaborate on engagement initiatives and deliver the highest level of content-driven programming that meets alumni annual engagement and fundraising goals.

Strategic Planning:

  • Work alongside the Director to create and implement a 5-year outreach plan for alumni based on alumni engagement metrics

Event Planning and Execution:

  • Plan and execute alumni events, ranging from small gatherings to large-scale reunions. Coordinate logistics, invitations, volunteers, on-site management, and follow-up activities for events.

  • Represent and support NPU Office of Advancement and Alumni Engagement events and other University functions as necessary and provide on-site support during program and event execution.

Fundraising Support:

  • Collaborate with Advancement to identify and cultivate potential donors among alumni.

Office Management:

  • Oversee organization and inventory of Alumni engagement supplies, such as archival materials and promotional items and signage.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, or a closely related field.

  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 3-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours. Peak event periods require additional hours including evenings and weekends. Ability to travel approximately 2-3x/year.

  • Demonstrate proficiency with managing social media content on a multitude of platforms.

  • Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University's mission of Christian higher education.

  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Adaptable and flexible, able to prioritize and respond effectively to multiple demands.

  • Be customer-friendly and hospitable.

  • Ability to work independently and with others, and to be proactive.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • A demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity.

  • Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Have experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge software and WordPress
