Leadership Annual Giving aims to broaden the community of donor support for the Wexner Medical Center by establishing relationships with donors, alumni, volunteers, and/or grateful patients; soliciting leadership-level annual gifts targeting $3,000-$50,000; and identifying future major gift donors.

The Assistant Director will meet with and solicit a high volume of undiscovered prospects and be responsible for proactively managing a large portfolio of donors. This role requires frequent travel including approximately two overnight trips per month plus regular in-state travel and is responsible for managing an allocated budget. This position will utilize reporting and analysis tools to determine direct fundraising effectiveness, activities and strategies and will be measured on established metrics to include meetings, commitments, dollars and major gift referrals.

The Assistant Director reports to the Director of Annual Giving and Finance and operates with a high degree of independence, decision-making capabilities and judgment. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills (including tact, diplomacy, and discretion) and the ability to maintain confidentiality, negotiate and be organized and analytical are a must. The successful candidate will be flexible and have the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and demands.

Message to Applicants Number of Positions Available 1 University Title Annual Giving Coordinator Working Title Annual Giving Coordinator Department Dev Constituency Fundraising Department Location Columbus Requisition Number 445534 Summary of Duties Reporting to the Director of Development, the Annual Giving Coordinator assists with developing and implementing a Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) Grateful Client Annual Giving Program and Annual Donor Journey to help build the College of Veterinary Medicine's (CVM) grateful client donor pipeline. They assist with the multi-channel annual giving program and provide support for the Advancement team whose emphasis is on major gift donations and alumni relations. They implement targeted strategies that focus on annual giving donor renewal, acquisition and reacquisition, working with the college's development team members to devise and execute plans that incorporate direct mail, digital, phone center and peer-to-peer outreach into annual giving campaigns; serve as the college's liaison to central annual giving within the Alumni Association; and work with the college's communication team on the design of collateral material for annual giving, major gift and/or alumni engagement purposes. This position manages alumni, grateful client, prospect and suspect information, data requirements and analysis, and research that effectively support and direct not only the college's annual giving efforts but also major gifts, donor and alumni/grateful client events. They develop reports that include departmental alumni/grateful client breakdowns, heat maps, prospect demographics and broader data analysis. The Annual Giving Coordinator is expected to be a strong collaborator and team player; effectively and professionally communicate with college leaders, volunteers, alumni, grateful clients and donors; and maintain a high level of confidentiality as it pertains to knowledge about our alumni and donor base. They must be detail-oriented; able to interpret, present and use data to drive strategic decision making; highly motivated, driven, and skilled in managing and organizing their work and time which will include occasional evening and weekend work. This position will be familiar with and able to utilize Microsoft Office programs, become proficient in the use of both the University's donor and VMC's client databases, be able to work in a fast-paced environment and exhibit the behaviors associated with the Office of Advancements core competencies: Leadership, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Collaboration, and Communication/Interpersonal Effectiveness.
