The Assistant Director of Funds Management for Student Financial Aid within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management leads and directs the operations and staff of the Funds Management team. Supervises a staff of 3 direct reports and employs a comprehensive performance management process including, setting expectations through performance planning, providing on-going coaching/mentoring, and reinforcing expectations through performance planning.
Responsible for overseeing federal, state and institutional financial aid funds and reconciliation, including the Federal Work Study and Federal Direct Loan programs. Manages, reconciles, monitors and audits scholarship account balances.
In coordination with staff, prepares annual projections of spending for Endowment and Development funds. Works with SFA leadership on completion and submission of the annual Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP). Researches, gathers, analyzes, and summarizes information for projects within Student Financial Aid or with external partners.
Directs training and stays current with advances in technologies to support the goals of the office and the university. Develops goals, objectives, and quality control measures. Assesses and adjusts workload as demands change.
Works with Associate Director of Strategic Analysis and Funds Management and the Reporting and Analytics Senior Analyst to forecast expenditures of university and federal funds, as needed. Performs special projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:
Required:
Ability to work well with a diverse workforce, including different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
5 years of relevant experience required
Desired:
Experience with accounting and/or bookkeeping preferred
Knowledge of federal, state and university financial aid programs, financial aid computer processing systems and research tools desired
Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) desired
problem solving and communication skills
supervisory/management experience desired
8-12 years of relevant experience preferred
Additional Information:
The targeted hiring range for this position is $55,100 - $61,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
