Position Summary

NYU's prestigious Leonard N. Stern School of Business has a challenging and exciting Assistant Director opportunity for its Fubon Center for Technology, Business and Innovation.

The Assistant Director will cultivate and maintain essential business relationships with external constituencies, as well as potential funders and alumni, to promote the Fubon Center's mission and increase visibility. The selected candidate will manage and organize events and activities sponsored by the Center, including high-level, large-scale conferences and several smaller events and activities. The Assistant Director will plan, draft and execute digital and traditional marketing and communications efforts for the Center.

S/he will determine themes, messaging and design for the Center's website and social media platforms. Additional duties will include: creating and managing the annual budget, drafting and designing research grant application processes, as well as evaluating the effectiveness of the Center's various communication efforts.


Candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in developing web content, digital marketing, and event-planning, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.

Strong customer service and the ability to interface with senior-level stakeholders is required. The selected candidate will be a results-driven self-starter who can work on multiple projects with various deadlines. Relevant program support experience, including planning special events and activities, community building, and outreach is essential.

Candidates with prior academic or professional experience in technology and innovation are preferred. Knowledge of website design, social media platforms, and University financial systems, such as UDW+ or similar, would be preferred but not required.

VIEW JOBS 5/24/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-22T00:00 PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Jointly funded by the Department of Homeless Services and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, BRC's Transit Homeless Outreach staff members operate throughout the transit system 24 hours a day. Through this program, which BRC has operated since 2005 and significantly expanded in 2014, BRC provides outreach and case management services to humanely assist homeless individuals to permanently relocate from MTA properties. The program serves the New York City metropolitan area, including the boroughs of Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens. Clients of Transit Homeless Outreach are engaged and assessed with the goal of connecting them with housing and essential services. HOURS: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday; 9:00a - 5:30p DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for overseeing the operational component of transit outreach program, including working with Program Director and Clinical Assistant Director to plan and implement a comprehensive day to day outreach plan. Manage the Outreach Dispatch Desk which includes tracking and reporting of helpline calls, 311 calls and other reports of homeless conditions within the NYC Transit System. Ensure Code Blue and Code Red plans are implemented within the guidelines provided by Department of Homeless Services. Share 24-hour on-call responsibility. Provide emergency CPR/First Aid or Overdose prevention protocol if needed. Related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS required. A minimum of 5 years of homeless outreach experience with a significant amount of operational responsibilities. Strong supervisory experience in a homeless outreach setting. Must have an understanding of issues related to homelessness, have strong leadership skills and clinical skills, and have the ability to address multiple issues and challenges concurrently. Must have valid state driver's license. Basic computer literacy required. Bilingual preferred including, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Chinese, Korean or other language.
