The Office of Admissions is accepting applications for an Assistant Director for Transfer Recruitment and Student Success.

The Assistant Director leads the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive plan for undergraduate transfer student outreach that focuses on student recruitment, retention, and success. This role involves utilizing a team approach to collaborate with campus and community college partners, focusing on recruitment, advisement, and enrollment of transfer students. The goal is to develop a comprehensive plan for outreach and recruitment, strengthen partnerships within and outside the university, and provide seamless assistance to students. Responsibilities also include coordinating various transfer student programs, implementing best practices for relationship building and communication, participating in recruitment efforts, and assisting with the preparation of materials related to transfer students. Will complete other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of university policies, procedures, structures, and services offered.

  • Knowledge of university admission requirements and transfer of credit policies.

  • Knowledge of registration procedures.

  • Knowledge of financial aid and scholarship policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of current career trends.

  • Knowledge of promotional materials for all academic and student services areas at ETSU.

  • Skilled in public speaking.

  • Skilled at listening and asking open-ended questions to best understand a student's needs.

  • Skilled in student information systems (SIS) software and CRM software

  • Ability to travel extensively in recruiting efforts (requiring evenings, weekends, overnights, and extended overnights).

  • Ability to work independently, arrange information sessions, set appointments, and prioritize work effectively.

  • Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately as well as accept supervisory input and feedback.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with large groups and individuals.

  • Ability to build relationships with students and their families to assist in identifying the correct program for a student's career and personal goals.

  • Ability to work with diverse populations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Three (3) years of experience working in admissions, recruitment, student success, college access, or transfer student services at a higher education institution.

  • Availability to attend events during evenings and weekends and out of town - overnight travel may be required.

  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience working with transfer students in a college setting in recruitment or student success

  • 3-5 years of transfer student recruitment

  • Experience using Constitution Relationship Management (CRM) or similar technology in a university setting.

  • Previous employment at a 4-year regional institution

Salary $48,285
