Assistant Director For Proposal Management (Pre Award)

Under the direction of the Director of Pre Award and Program Management and in collaboration with the Principal Investigators, the Assistant Director for Proposal Management is responsible for full life cycle proposal management activities of research projects at the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS), a Department of Defense (DoD) University-Affiliated Research Center Laboratories (UARC).

The role of the Assistant Director for Proposal Management is to provide leadership and support to the Director of Research (DoR), Mission Area Leads (MALs), and Principal Investigators (PIs) for sponsored research. In this role, you will help grow the ARLIS business portfolio.

You will have experience managing a team of Proposal Managers as well as serving as a Proposal Manager on large, complex, and high-priority federal proposals. You will lead and enhance the knowledge and expertise of all ARLIS staff in proposal development best practices by planning and conducting proposal management trainings, developing, and updating proposal templates, tools, and resources.

In this role, you will lead and serve as the point of contact for White Papers, ROMs, RFIs and Proposals. You will manage all incoming requests for proposal management support including Proposal Manager assignments and ensuring coverage through to submission and any follow up submissions, and coaching Proposal Managers to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality, compliant proposals that follow university and federal rules and regulations.

As a leader of the Pre Award team, you will present proposal status metrics, issues, and reviews to ARLIS Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and incorporate and adjudicate feedback. You will also lead, build, and maintain formal networks involving coordination among many groups.
