The Hanover Public Schools Department of Student Services/Special Education is seeking an Assistant Director for Elementary Services for the 2024 - 2025 school year. This is a twelve-month district level position that will lead and support all elementary (PK-4) special education/student services. A competitive salary and benefits package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Qualifications:
Massachusetts licensure as an Administrator of Special Education and/or Supervisor/Director of Special Education required.
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience working in the field of special education.
Experience as a Team Chairperson or Special Education Coordinator preferred.
Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field required.
Experience as an administrator or other leadership position in a public school district preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the LEA and point of contact for all Elementary level IEPs.
Work collaboratively with building principals on specialized service schedules, compliance, and supporting staff, students, and families.
Provide oversight and supervision of the specialized programming at the elementary level.
Oversee and support the scheduling of the 5-week Extended School Year (ESY) programming.
Will lead and supervise IEP services and transitional needs as students advance between levels.
Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding evolving special education issues, changes in statute, DESE regulations, case law, and research related to educating students with disabilities.
Assist in the supervision and evaluation of Special Education staff and direct service providers.
Work collaboratively to resolve conflicts related to special education including participation in mediation and BSEA processes.
Serve as the LEA and point of contact for students who attend Out of District placements at the elementary level and as assigned.
Will be evaluated by the Director of Student Services in collaboration with the elementary principals.
Perform any other duties and assume responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent of Schools.
