The Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship serves as part of the WOSU Public Media Advancement team and is responsible for assisting with the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive programs that ensure donors are acknowledged, recognized and shown the impact of their gifts. With a strong emphasis on driving WOSUs fundraising efforts forward through donor recognition and engagement, the Assistant Director manages WOSUs stewardship program and collaborates across WOSU units to ensure donors have positive experiences that build loyalty, engagement and support for WOSU.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, the Assistant Director operates with a high degree of organization, attention to detail, critical thinking and creativity in a global capacity, and interpersonal skills for interaction with leadership, Board members, development officers, donors, and key stakeholders. This position is responsible for proactively and independently realizing programmatic activities to include organizing and establishing priorities and managing projects with multiple deadlines and competing requirements.

The Assistant Director is expected to demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, evaluate and respond appropriately to problems, have excellent communication skills (both written and oral), and demonstrate computer competency and highly developed knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.

Message to Applicants Number of Positions Available 1 University Title Director, Corporate Relations and Stewardship, Corporate Relations Working Title Director, Corp Rel & Stew Department Dev Corporate Relations Department Location Columbus Requisition Number 445535 Summary of Duties Reporting to the Executive Director of Corporate Relations, the Director will lead, develop and implement meaningful engagement opportunities and stewardship initiatives that support the Executive Director's and development officers' philanthropic strategies focused on the priorities of corporate partners. They will provide a critical service in aligning and coordinating with other university units, colleges, faculty and staff in the corporate sector and be responsible for managing activities and relationships with leaders in the Industry Liaison Office (ILO), Corporate Engagement Office (CEO), Discovery Themes, Institutes and Centers across the university to include senior-level staff, faculty, physicians and board members. The Director develops university-wide stewardship guidelines, best practices and programs designed to express appreciation and the impact of philanthropic support. Guidelines and best practices will align with a tiered strategy approach. This position operates with a high degree of independence to make decisions, solve problems, negotiate and adapt to shifting priorities. They are strategic, professional, interpersonally savvy, diplomatic and discrete, and will exhibit proactive listening skills to identify and communicate to the Executive Director and/or team members other possible engagement opportunities with a prospective and/or existing corporate partner. The Director demonstrates the ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment and exhibits the competence, confidence and experience to evaluate and respond appropriately to challenging and often changing engagement opportunities. The Director is expected to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment when working with sensitive information; be proficient with Microsoft Office programs; regularly utilize the customer relationship management system to include the timely input of engagement interactions; prepare budgets and monitor expenses; and prepare and deliver briefings, engagement opportunity and stewardship initiative proposals and impact reports, and/or presentations.
