Assistant Director Development, Gift Planning Administration

Position Highlights:

The assistant director of gift planning administration plays a significant role in increasing the number of Rush Heritage Society members. This position reports to the Senior Director of Gift Planning and works in close collaboration with the development communications, stewardship, annual fund and prospect management teams. The position will assist in all aspects of the gift planning program, including the cultivation and stewardship of new and existing heritage society members.

Primary responsibilities include: assisting with qualification, cultivation and stewardship of Rush Heritage Society members, assisting with planned giving marketing initiatives, responding to planned giving inquiries, managing the gift administration process for planned gifts and realized bequests.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration and processing of estate gifts, realized bequests and gift annuities.

  • Develop, test and carry out meaningful cultivation and stewardship strategies. Organize and manage targeted mail and email program and perform initial donor qualification of planned giving leads to grow the planned giving pipeline.

  • Work in collaboration with stewardship communications team to implement a steady stream of stewardship program for Rush Heritage Society members. Provide personalized stewardship to an assigned group of Rush Heritage Society donors.

  • Participate in the ongoing marketing communications program to expand the Rush Heritage Society.

  • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies to generate planned gift leads; prepare progress reports on the Rush Heritage Society.

  • Track, report and analyze planned giving marketing results.

Position Qualifications Include:

The Assistant Director of Gift Planning Administration should have the following attributes:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree.

  • Two or more years of increasingly responsible positions in development or a related field.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a mature donor audience.

  • Excellent organizational skills, must have the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to conceive and manage projects from inception to delivery, including tracking and reporting on progress and results.

  • Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events, as necessary.

  • Effective computer experience, including Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer fundraising software (Advance preferably). Working knowledge of PG Calc planned giving software.

  • Ability to articulate Rush's mission and the campaign vision to a variety of constituencies with poise and diplomacy.

Learning &Organizational Effectiveness: Associate Director of Design & Development, GrantThornton Partner Leadership Academy Job Description: The Associate Director of leadership program development forGrant Thornton Leadership Academy (GTLA) will have the responsibility ofleading efforts to design, develop and maintain content to support the PartnerLeadership Academy within GTLA. Thisrole reports to the Senior Director of Leadership, having primaryresponsibility for driving new development and improving existing programs withinthe Partner Leadership Academy from conception through implementation. Design: The Associate Director of Design andDevelopment is responsible for improving existing design and creating newdesign elements, when appropriate, for multiple work streams within the Partnerleadership Academy. In this role theindividual works with internal and external stakeholders to understand theneeds of the business, design high level and detailed level solutions aroundleadership that can be implemented in a rapid development cycle. The work exists for both session-based andasynchronous program elements. The role interfaces with the internal project team, businessstakeholders, the Senior Director, the Chief Learning & Leadership Officer andexternal thought leadership to collaboratively identify and address leadershipdevelopment needs at the partner, principle and managing director levels,turning concepts into a design that will achieve the outcomes prioritized bythe business. The individual must havethe ability to turn abstract concepts and ideas into an understandable innovativedesigns that communicate the design elements and propose creative solutions tobusiness partners and stakeholders. Development: The Associate Director of Design andDevelopment will also be responsible for the design and development ofmaterials, supporting documentation, and other instruments used in theexecution of both session-based and asynchronous learning elements and events –this can include specialized work in support of executive assessment, executivecoaching, content curation and succession-planning elements The individual will be responsible forupdating existing content and responsible for the development of new materialsneeded to support upcoming learning solutions, the detailed agenda andexecution plans of experiential exercises, correlated activities andmeasurement strategies. The Design and Development Associate Director will workdirectly with business leaders (GTLA faculty) within the academy to assist inthe development of Key-Note addresses, session activities, curated content andsupporting materials. The interactionand communication of direction to these senior leaders is critical to thesuccess of the program and providing clear, concise, crisp communication withthis group is an essential element of success. Vendor Collaboration: Certain design elements, existing today,require the interface with external vendors. The individual in this role will have the responsibility to ensure thatall vendor driven solutions are designed, developed and delivered with theoverall integrity of the program in mind and that individual solutionsdeveloped by the vendor meet the needs of the program. Vendor selection and management capabilitywill be essential in this role.
