Assistant Director Development, Gift Planning Administration

The assistant director of gift planning administration plays a significant role in increasing the number of Rush Heritage Society members. This position reports to the Senior Director of Gift Planning and works in close collaboration with the development communications, stewardship, annual fund and prospect management teams. The position will assist in all aspects of the gift planning program, including the cultivation and stewardship of new and existing heritage society members.
Primary responsibilities include: assisting with qualification, cultivation and stewardship of Rush Heritage Society members, assisting with planned giving marketing initiatives, responding to planned giving inquiries, managing the gift administration process for planned gifts and realized bequests.
Manage the administration and processing of estate gifts, realized bequests and gift annuities.
Develop, test and carry out meaningful cultivation and stewardship strategies. Organize and manage targeted mail and email program and perform initial donor qualification of planned giving leads to grow the planned giving pipeline.
Work in collaboration with stewardship communications team to implement a steady stream of stewardship program for Rush Heritage Society members. Provide personalized stewardship to an assigned group of Rush Heritage Society donors.
Participate in the ongoing marketing communications program to expand the Rush Heritage Society.
Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies to generate planned gift leads; prepare progress reports on the Rush Heritage Society.
Track, report and analyze planned giving marketing results.
Position Qualifications Include:
The Assistant Director of Gift Planning Administration should have the following attributes:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree.
Two or more years of increasingly responsible positions in development or a related field.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a mature donor audience.
Excellent organizational skills, must have the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to conceive and manage projects from inception to delivery, including tracking and reporting on progress and results.
Flexibility to attend evening and weekend events, as necessary.
Effective computer experience, including Microsoft Office and knowledge of computer fundraising software (Advance preferably). Working knowledge of PG Calc planned giving software.
Ability to articulate Rush's mission and the campaign vision to a variety of constituencies with poise and diplomacy.
