Work Schedule: Hybrid - occasional work from home with flexibility and individual judgement. The candidate should expect to be on-campus most of the time.

Organizational Summary:

The USF College of The Arts offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs and enrolls over 1400 majors. Within the college there are four academic units (School of Architecture & Community Design; School of Art & Art History; School of Music; School of Theatre & Dance); and the Contemporary Art Museum & Graphic studio. Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing reports to the Dean and strategically manages and plans all marketing initiatives for the College of The Arts. The Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing works closely with staff to conduct relevant market research and testing to inform program viability, competition, and marketing strategies. This position provides oversight, direction and some creation for internal and external communications including website management, brand initiatives, advertising, presentations, internal and external PR, social media, digital media, and collateral materials.

Responsibilities:

Manages and leads all strategic marketing and communication activities for CoTA including, but not limited to, website management, brand initiatives, presentations, internal and external PR, social media, digital media, and collateral materials. Works with dean, faculty, staff, students and University Communications and Marketing to identify, develop, and market stories that promote and publicize the university's research projects, programs, events, student activities, community outreach efforts, and faculty, staff, and student achievements.

Designs, develops, writes, edits, publishes, maintains, coordinates, and/or oversees a variety of print and/or electronic news, social media, feature, marketing, promotional, recruitment, and/or educational pieces, materials, and/or publications for internal, community, university-wide, public, and/or media dissemination. Makes presentations and speeches to promote the unit, and/or develops speeches and presentation graphics and charts for delivery by others in the unit. Will manage the marketing creative process from concept to completion, translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies, review work, troubleshoot and provide feedback to ensure all creative assets adhere to visual identity and brand standards set by the University.

Manages marketing budget. Manages direct report(s). Responds to requests for information from the public. In coordination with the Dean and University Communications and Marketing, develops responses to media inquiries about the College.

Selects and recruits vendors to produce materials. Performs other administrative and support duties as required in support of the mission and communication strategy of the unit.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of four years of related exempt experience, including two years of supervisory experience.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

Preferred:

Experience in art directing including photography, videography and demonstrated success in social media and traditional media marketing planning and execution. Strong media writing skills.
