Job Description:

As the Assistant Director of our Clinical Research Administration (CRA) division, you will be responsible for leading the UFHCC's administrative management of clinical trial activation, budgeting and contracting activities, working in conjunction with your fellow Assistant Directors in the Clinical Research Office and with other leaders throughout the UF Health Cancer Center and the University at large to achieve the goals for the CRA division. In this role you will be part of the UFHCC's senior leadership team and will play an integral part in advancing the mission the Cancer Center and for ensuring we meet the high standards, requirements, and expectations of NCI designated cancer centers.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Leadership of the Clinical Research Administration division, ensuring systems are in place for the planning, development, implementation and measurement of clinical research administrative activities including pre- and post-award management, people and resource allocation, and contractual compliance in support of our mission;

  • Leading performance management and improvement efforts for the division, directing the development of the division's budget, and setting target metrics;

  • Providing constructive and forward-thinking leadership for the oversight for clinical research administration activities at the UFHCC and serve as liaison to internal and external stakeholders such as principal investigators, research staff, fiscal administrators, department chairs, and sponsors;

  • Oversight, direction, and management of pre-award activities for the CRO, working cross-collaboratively with the Office of Research Administration and centralized UF offices in order to forward the clinical research mission of the UFHCC and secure appropriate funding for the Center, its members, and ARC Network affiliated partners. This includes the development of clinical trials budgets and contracts for services, directing site evaluations, as well as oversight of the submission and review process for clinical trials submissions during the activation process;

  • Oversight, direction, and management of post-award activities for the CRO, working cross-collaboratively with Business Operations in order to monitor clinical trial statuses, communications with investigators, submission of required progress reports, billing compliance, and other related operational and fiscal requirements of the UFHCC clinical research portfolio.

This is a leadership position, ideal for candidates with expertise and established careers as research administrators for clinical research. Ideal candidates will have experience supervising complex teams and driving performance with an engaging, dynamic management style. This position, in addition to our other Assistant, Administrative, and Program Directors, function as members of our senior leadership and provide critical oversight and direction to the Cancer Center's collaborative research enterprise and are fundamental to the progress of cancer research being conducted at the University of Florida. Expected Salary:

$90,000 - $95,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in appropriate areas of specialization and four years of experience.

Professional clinical research and/or oncology certification (through SOCRA, ACRP, etc.) are required at the earliest of 12 months from hire or eligibility.
