Creighton University is seeking to hire an Assistant Director for the Business Career Programs at the Fahey Career Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the curriculum development, budget, promotion, and implementation for the Career Portfolio Program, a four-year career and professional development program for students in the Heider College of Business.

  • May teach for-credit career development courses as needed.

  • Serve as a liaison, along with Associate Director, between the Career Center and the Heider College of Business administration and faculty.

  • Assist with assessment development, data collection, and fulfillment of data requests for Heider College of Business and Student Success stakeholders.

  • Supervise and train Graduate Assistant and/or Undergraduate Intern positions (i.e., Peer Advisors) for the Career Center and College to ensure department objectives are met.

  • Counsel and coach students and recent alumni regarding all aspects of career development, including career/major exploration, job and internship searches and preparation for graduate/professional school.

  • Assist Director and Associate Director with programs and services for students in all undergraduate colleges, recent alumni, employer outreach and relations, and assist with timely publicity of all internships and full-time opportunities for Heider College of Business students.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related discipline. Master's degree in counseling, higher education, business or other helping profession preferred.

  • Experience in career counseling or human resources preferred.

  • 2-5 years' experience working in a college career center, an employment or human resources office, or related program management position.

  • Experience with program assessment preferred.

  • Exceptional presentation and writing skills, attention-to-detail, critical thinking skills, and ability to prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment required.

  • A high degree of counseling acumen, some exposure to the labor market and/or business community, and experience working with college students required.

  • A significant level of technical competence with social media, online programs, and internet resources required.
