SUMMARY

Responsible for administration and follow up of product design process. Assists in the conceptual development of product lines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for administration and follow of product design process to include preparation of technical packages and seasonal presentation boards, understanding of PDM process, email correspondence, etc.

  • Responsible for cadding of fabric and styles.

  • Assists with basic specification of product.

  • Sketch and revise new bodies for the line.

  • May assist in researching the local market.

  • Responsible for maintaining design folders for reference.

  • Responsible for trim design/trim sourcing, development, and keeping trim sheets up to date.

  • Responsible for creating inspiration boards, color boards and presentation boards for sales tools, etc.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • Ability to learn how to design through new/advanced technology (e.g., Illustrator and Photoshop a must).

  • Basic knowledge of product and fabric.

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of garment construction.

  • Basic knowledge of design and color.

  • Ability to perform basic flat sketches.

  • Good organizational and communication skills

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree in Fashion Design.

  • One year design experience (may include summer jobs, internships, etc.)

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE Under supervision, performs entry-level architectural assignments. JOB DUTIES * Compiles data. * Works on design assignments for review by more senior architects. * Performs quantity takeoffs and estimates for review. * Prepares architectural specifications, plans and renderings under the direction of a registered architect. * Inspects architectural features of structures in the field. * Consults manufacturers and evaluates materials. * Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Minimal experience is required of incumbents with a Bachelor's degree in Architecture; no experience required with a Master's degree in Architecture SPECIAL SKILLS * Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop technical writing, computer & communication skills. * CAD skills required. Revit and/or Microstation experience preferred.
