You will provide high-quality, high-volume administrative support primarily to the H Department Head.
You will competently and effectively perform top-level administrative, operational, and office management functions.
You will be responsible for directing procedures and administrative controls of the H Department Head.
You will manage the Department Head calendar, schedule meetings, make travel arrangements, process and rout visitors, phone calls and emails.
You will serve as primary point of contact for the Department Head.
You will maintain the records of employees directly supervised by the Department Head.
You will prepare briefings and presentation material, compose/review correspondence, memoranda and other technical and non-technical matters for the signature of the Department Head and staff.
You will oversee office activity, recommend efficiencies and improve office operations.
Your will lead and/or participates in corporate working groups and study teams and assist NSWCDD and H Department in orchestrating special activities, such as Navy Knowledge Network meetings, Information exchanges, and various social events.
You will serve as interface between H Department Head and NSWCDD Command, Technical Departments, etc. That is, communicating upward and downward within the civilian chain of command as an extension of the H Department Head office.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NG 03 pay band or GS 7/8 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing administrative and clerical support utilizing office automation systems. Examples of qualifying experience: Providing administrative support in an executive position; performing administrative, operational and office management functions; managing calendars, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, and processing and routing visitors, phone calls and emails; supporting the Navy-mandated Records Management (RM) initiative; lead, manage, and guide efforts of lower-level secretaries; compose/review correspondence, memoranda and other materials on technical and non-technical matters for signature; determines the routing of correspondence to staff members, setting controls and deadlines.
