Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Student Recruitment and Admission and working in concert with the College of Health Professions, the Assistant Dean of Student Recruitment and Admission will play a key role in managing a student recruitment and admission team responsible for educating, recruiting, evaluating, and yielding prospective and admitted undergraduate (first-year and transfer) and graduate students, consistent with the mission, vision, and the strategic priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

All student recruitment and admission team members will be expected to serve students across the College of Health Professions' market base (undergraduate, graduate, second degree and international). The depth and extent of time each team member will individually serve each market will be determined based on business needs and an ongoing evaluation of best practices and team functions. The Assistant Dean will have a set of core functions for which she/he expected to fulfill -- this position will serve as the primary student recruitment and admission point of contact/liaison to the College of Heath Professions. Recruitment efforts will be focused on the following programs: Exercise Science, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Sports Administration, and Physical Therapy.

  • Demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to the mission, vision, and core values of Bellarmine;

  • Engage in professional behavior that enables the achievement of individual work responsibilities while fully and positively supporting the dynamics and progress of all the Division of Enrollment, Marketing and Communication units;

  • Develop and lead a small team that manages a territory/caseload by analyzing data to determine which events, businesses, fairs and students to strategically target, and which territorial strategies will be most effective in each market to support goal attainment to support a vibrant and entrepreneurial academic unit;

  • Manage an aggressive and effective outreach and engagement program of assigned undergraduate and graduate students;

  • Serve as a primary liaison to the academic school or college, developing annual operational and tactical plans with the input of other relevant stakeholders;

  • Assess, develop and implement marketing, communication and recruitment strategies for undergraduate and graduate students, as an integrated part of the enrollment strategy. Monitor web content for assigned markets and academic programs. Advise and help implement enrollment marketing opportunities;

  • Support the creation of personalized recruitment or marketing materials as needed;

  • Work with prospective students to facilitate the application process, interviews, registration, billing, advising and other key enrollment processes in coordination with other campus offices;

  • Evaluate candidate files, assist in gathering application evaluation materials as needed, and recommend admission where appropriate;

  • Supervise student workers/volunteers, and support staff, for specific projects as needed;

  • Make fiscally-sound and responsible decisions surrounding travel and recruitment tactics;

  • Work with enrollment data systems and electronic media in the recruitment of students (CRM, social media, etc).

  • Develop innovative strategies and programs to recruit and inspire graduating Bellarmine students to pursue advanced degrees;

  • Coordinate and participate in academic departmental and school meetings and events;

  • Actively engage prospects at recruitment fairs and events;

  • Plan and conduct recruitment presentations at high schools, four-year colleges and corporate and community venues. Cultivate relationships to enhance and expand Bellarmine brand and markets;

  • Conduct effective and proactive phone, email, social media, and other contact campaigns to qualify students and move them in a timely and supportive manner through the enrollment funnel;

  • Present at information sessions as assigned or needed; and,

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field;

  • Experience leading initiatives and teams in an educational setting;

  • Experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, with a focus on metrics and priorities;

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience;

  • Experience with customer relationship management systems and reporting (Slate is preferred);

  • Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative;

  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people;

  • Should be self-directed and hold a service and people-centered disposition with a high regard for integrity, trust, and a mission-driven philosophy;

  • The position requires normal operating hours as well as evening and weekend work, flexible hours, and travel.
