This opportunity is with a leading mission-critical data center developer / wholesaler / colo provider. This firm provides data center solutions custom-fit to the requirements of their client's mission-critical operational facilities. They provide reliability of mission-critical facilities for many of the world's largest organizations.Assistant Project Manager- Data Center Construction- Northern VAWe are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Construction PM will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project. This will include providing leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of company projects. Project assignments for the most part will be regional.The candidate will have overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects on budget on time and assurance that the project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and the objectives set for the project.The successful candidate will have to be exceptionally organized and be great with back office work (change orders, budgets, paperwork driven, etc)Responsibilities:
  • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors in order to manage the day to day activities that impact the delivery of companys critical facilities construction projects
  • Ensure that all day to day project responsibilities are met by the contractors and vendors on the project.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary. Responsible for creating and managing project schedules.
  • Put together Project plans size up, costs, budget, scheduling , timeline, manage change orders, etc
  • Assists with reporting and RFPs to Contractors
  • Deliver Built to Suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value-engineering
  • Drive Company Standards uniformly as it regards to Project Delivery by all project participants on all projects.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income / expenses) to protect the companys interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the client
  • Represent the company in project meetings
  • Act as key Liaison with managers of all company departments.
  • Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project.
Requirements:
  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or as a General Contractor
  • Minimum of 2-5years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Client Facing /Client relationship / Client Management skills.
  • Must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects.
  • Solid Construction Project Management experience.
  • Effective Communicator emails, phone and face to face.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid Admin skills
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, AutoCAD a plus

VIEW JOBS 1/12/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-04-12T00:00 <p>The Data Center Technician IV must possess an expert level of knowledge and will be responsible for the operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the data center electrical, mechanical, fire life safety systems, and communications infrastructure. <br></p><p>Mechanical responsibilities will include chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems such as roof top units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems. </p><p>Electrical responsibilities will include electrical/critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer load. </p><p>Fire Life Safety responsibilities will include wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems as well as their associated detection devices. </p><p>Communications Infrastructure responsibilities will include IFD / MDF / MMR management, structured cabling and supporting infrastructure ownership, and customer space management. </p><p>This position will also be directly responsible for the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way by working very closely with the Data Center Manager. Technicians must ensure that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, contractors deliver quality services, and internal customer demands are met. A Tier IV technician develops creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies.</p><p><strong>Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Data center subject matter expert for electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire life safety systems.</li></ul><ul> <li>Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. Areas include: Electrical, Mechanical, Communications, Building Monitoring and Control. </li> <li>Tracking and trending operational characteristics. </li> <li>Mentoring of junior staff.</li> <li>Work with the site Data Center Manager to track and complete an aggressive preventive and predicative maintenance schedule</li> <li>Work with and provides guidance, to the site Data Center Manager to determine maintenance requirements for mechanical and electrical systems</li> </ul><ul> <li>Ensure data center operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and improving overall efficiency and cost reduction. Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated technical ability and innovative thinking cross functionally, including integrated systems and IT</li> <li>Manage systems to avoid unplanned, customer-impacting outages </li> <li>Manage the data floor and back of house mechanical loading capacity thereby ensuring that the cooling system is operating at its highest efficiency</li> <li>Provide applied mechanical and integrated control expertise for the entire data center</li> <li>Work as a primary knowledge expert in regard to fire and electrical codes.</li> </ul><ul> <li>Serve in a technical writing capacity in regard to the derivation of procedures for preventative or corrective maintenance activities.</li> <li>Assist Data Center Manager with the database management of maintenance discrepancies and work with Operations management to resolve site issues based on agreed upon priorities.</li> <li>Trouble Ticket Management</li> <li>Work Order Completion Process </li> <li>Infrastructure projects (Internal/Customer)<ul> <li>1.
