What do you get to do in this position?

  • You will provide hands on operation and maintenance of site facilities equipment in accordance with procedures and policies using your knowledge, skills and certifications/ licenses.

  • You will collect data and performs rounds/readings.

  • In this role you will monitor contractors for procedural, safety, environmental, and risk mitigation process compliance with established procedures/policies/laws

  • You will conduct training (within your expertise) to other CFT's and trainees.

  • You will work closely with vendors and contractors to ensure their work meets Schneider Electric and customer standards.

  • Assistant Critical Facility Manager (ACFM)

The ACFM is responsible for assisting the CFM with risk mitigation, operations, maintenance, and improvements to the physical infrastructure of the assigned critical facility or site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing operations and maintenance of all assigned site infrastructure equipment and systems

  • Coordinating the workforce schedule to accomplish assigned maintenance and operations.

  • Maintain the CMMS accuracy and completeness, produce reports as required.

  • Assisting and planning with clients on facilities issues

  • Assist in the development and execution of facilities budget

  • Managing projects as assigned

  • Managing facilities support and operations staff as assigned

  • Assist with coordination with all other groups (sales, finance, executive staff, projects/construction, etc.)

  • Assist in the negotiation and approval of contracts/agreements with vendors as requested

  • On-call 24x7x365 and respond to all data center emergencies

  • Assume the duties of the CFM in their absence

  • Assist with site's safety and environmental compliance

  • Assist in managing the client relationship


  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university in a major field of study or equivalent 5 years of experience in critical facility environments

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience

This position will service the base building systems, including HVAC mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment, and related components. Responsibilities Control the daily operation of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the physical plant and buildings Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep these systems up to applicable standards Maintains responsibility for preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency Monitoring operation and maintaining refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters, other mechanical and electrical equipment Performs and/or completes all tenant service requests accurately and expediently. Formulates and implements the preventative maintenance program for the building. Performs preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner. Monitors the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors. Be able to evaluate building systems to monitor and to improve performance to operate efficiently. Complies with all policies and procedures established for the building. Ability to work long hours occasionally and some weekends Periodically acts as the on-call engineer for the portfolio of office buildings. Actively participates in emergency response procedures, technical and safety training programs. Perform all work using the proper safety equipment and in a safe manner Requirements High school diploma or GED 01 Journeyman Certification preferred Strong Electrical background; 5+ years Minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical, HVAC trade, including rooftop units Minimum of 4 years' experience in backup systems (generator and UPS) Knowledge of maintenance and operation of building automation, water treatment and fire life safety systems Good interpersonal and a positive team attitude Familiarity with computers and operations and office automation applications, including Microsoft Office Strong customer service orientation Excellent verbal and written communication skills While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk long distances to cover property portfolio.
