Assistant Corporate Controller

Job Overview

Can we count on you to oversee our financial operations? Marvin is seeking an experienced Assistant Corporate Controller to join our finance team. This role is essential in developing and supporting highly effective systems and controls to allow for the preparation, identification and communication of accurate, timely and critical financial information.

Highlights of your role

• The development, testing and maintenance of all accounting processes related to; financial reporting, cost/manufacturing systems, accounts receivable invoicing and accounts payable.

• Month-end and year-end financial statement preparation including consolidation, analysis and working directly with the external audit team.

• Assisting with the budget process for several organizations and consolidations

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and promoting professional development and career growth opportunities.

• Researching and communicating current accounting pronouncements, ensuring accuracy of financial data and adherence to company policies and procedures.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and an understanding of how they relate to our financial reporting requirements

• Strong technical accounting knowledge

• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to encourage and empower a hard-working team

• Proven track record of improving processes, implementing best practices, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.

Also want to make sure you have

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required
• 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing company environment
